The Mumbai Indians will play their first IPL2024 home match on Monday. Hardik Pandya’s squad will face Rajasthan Royals at Wankhede Stadium. The five-time champs had a hard start.

Mumbai is hoping for their first home match win after losing to Gujarat in the first match and then to Hyderabad in the second. Rajasthan, on the other side, is going for a hat trick after winning the first two matches.

Rajasthan Royals, on the other hand, launched their IPL season with two victories, thanks to promising young players like Yashasvi Jaiswal and Riyan Parag, as well as a powerful batting lineup led by Sanju Samson himself. Experienced players such as Jos Buttler and Ravichandran Ashwin have improved the Rajasthan team.

Rajasthan currently has four points after winning both of its matches. Sanju’s squad, currently in third, has a net run rate of +0.800. If they win, Rajasthan will take the lead with six points.

Mumbai Indians have also lost two consecutive matches. They are at number 10 with 0 points. Hardik Pandya’s net run-rate for Mumbai is now -0.925. If Hardik can win at home, they can add 2 points to their score sheet.

If you want to build your Dream 11 Predictions Fantasy team wisely, then you should remember these points:

  • The Rajasthan squad will be unchanged, their starting lineup against Mumbai on Monday.
  • Powell can serve as an Impact Substitute If RR needs a batting option. Otherwise, Nandre Burger will come as an Impact Substitute.
  • The Mumbai team has previously looked at 14 cricketers. Luke Wood, on the other hand, is eligible to return for this match instead of Kwena Maphaka, if he stays fit.
  • The loss of Suryakumar is a significant element in Mumbai’s middle order. Rohit and Hardik will receive special attention in this encounter as well.

KEY PLAYERS

Rohit Sharma: Indian Skipper and former MI captain Rohit Sharma is one of the Key players to watch out for. He is one of the most destructive batters in T20 cricket. The five-time champ is a leader on the field. He smashed a 43 off 29 with 7 fours and a six against GT, and he made 26 off 12 with a four and 3 sixes against SRH.

Tilak Varma: Tilak Varma has scored 89 runs for MI in two games, making him the leading run-scorer. RR has one of the best spin attacks, so it will be an advantage for Varma because he efficiently handles spin bowling. The match will be played at Wankhede. On this pitch, Varma will be unstoppable.

Ishan Kishan: He may set up the bowling attack from the start and offer the Mumbai Indians a solid platform for a high total. Against the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL, Kishan has a decent record. Kishan is accustomed to the Wankhede’s conditions, which may offer him an advantage.

Hardik Pandya:

As MI’s new captain, Pandya will bear a great deal of responsibility. His tactical knowledge and leadership abilities will be tested against the RR team in front of the home crowd. Pandya is a powerful batter who can demolish the bowling attack in the middle overs. Against a potent RR batting lineup, his bowling will be vital.

Jasprit Bumrah: Right now, Bumrah is among the world’s top bowlers. He creates a threat to any hitter with his pace, accuracy, and ability to swing the new ball. Playing in the IPL for a long time, Bumrah has expertise, and he knows how to win in this intense competition.

Jos Buttler: Buttler has the highest runs scorer for RR against MI. For years, he has been a constant source of trouble for MI, having scored 485 runs against them. Buttler has indeed struggled this season so far. However, his track record versus MI implies he is a major threat to MI.

Yashasvi Jaiswal: In the current IPL 2024 season, he hasn’t scored many runs yet, but his ability and past form make him a dangerous hitter to bowl against. He is about to take a serious hit, and the game versus MI may be the one where he does. He has a history of success against MI, having crushed them for a century in the last year.

Sanju Samson: Samson started this year very well with 97 runs in two matches. This suggests that he is in form and might score a lot of runs against MI. Bearing the duty of leading the squad from the front is his job as RR’s captain. His batting display has the power to inspire the team.

Riyan Parag: In the most recent game against the Delhi Capitals (DC) and the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) before it, he scored an incredible 84(45), and 43(29) with the bat. He has been in incredible form this season in the IPL 2024. His strong middle-order batting will be the game-changing moment for RR against MI.

R Ashwin: He is a brilliant strategist who can outmanoeuvre batters and adds a plethora of experience to the RR bowling attack. For RR to succeed, Ashwin must be able to manage the pace of play and take critical wickets in the middle overs. Besides his bowling abilities, Ashwin is a competent batsman who can score some significant runs at a lower order.

Trent Boult: In Wankhede’s pitch, which has a reputation for swinging early and making Boult even more lethal when it does. He can pick up early wickets, where he has a great record against Rohit Sharma. He has an excellent chance of winning the match if he can make a few early breakthroughs and put MI on the defensive.

MI vs RR Pitch Report

Wankhede offers a pitch for batting, guaranteeing high-scoring games. Although this venue’s pitches could be helpful to spinners, the shorter boundaries provide a problem for them.

Last year, in the Indian Premier League, the Wankhede venue had its fastest run rate (10.14). When the fast bowlers were in action, the score was highest (10.99), and when the spinners were in play, it was second fastest (8.80). Only Dharamshala beat it at the end of play (12.26).

It was the fastest frequently used venue in the power play (9.91), the second fastest in the middle overs (9.58), and the fastest at the death. Therefore, whoever wins the toss should to choose bowl first, which could be an advantage.

MI vs RR Weather Report

It will be a hot affair for both sides on the western shore as the humidity will be 66 per cent. Since Mumbai players are accustomed to high heat and humidity, Rajasthan players will face greater challenges under these conditions.

When the game starts at 7:30 PM IST, the temperature will be 29 degrees Celsius and 28 degrees Celsius when the match ends. If a captain wins the toss, they should strive to field first to get the advantage of dew later on. There is no chance of rain, and partly cloudy. Wind will be blown 14 km/h from North-West.
