From College Standout to G League Addition

The Iowa Wolves, affiliated with the Minnesota Timberwolves, made an addition to their roster by acquiring former Gophers guard Gabe Kalscheur from the available player pool. This move comes ahead of their upcoming game against the Rio Grande Valley Vipers on Friday.

Kalscheur, a 24-year-old native of Edina, Minnesota, showcased his talents as a 3-point shooter during his freshman year with the Gophers from 2018 to 2021.

However, his shooting percentage saw a decline in subsequent years, leading to his decision to transfer to Iowa State for his final two college seasons with the Cyclones.

Throughout his collegiate career, the 6-foot-4 guard averaged 10.8 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game while maintaining a shooting percentage of 38% from the field and 33% from beyond the arc.

Recently, Kalscheur has been active in 18 games this season for the Capital City Go-Go, the G League affiliate of the Washington Wizards. During this time, he averaged 2.9 points, 0.4 rebounds, and 0.3 assists per game, showcasing his versatility on the court.

Kalscheur Joins Iowa Wolves: Boosting Team’s Offense and Defense

As he joins the Iowa Wolves, Kalscheur will don the No. 20 jersey, aiming to make a significant impact and contribute to the team’s success on both ends of the floor.

With his experience and skills, he brings depth to the roster and provides valuable options for the coaching staff to consider in various game situations.

The addition of Kalscheur adds another dimension to the Iowa Wolves‘ lineup, providing them with a talented guard who can contribute offensively and defensively.

His ability to knock down shots from beyond the arc and his willingness to defend against opposing players make him a valuable asset for the team as they aim for success in the G League.

Overall, Kalscheur’s arrival brings excitement and anticipation to the Iowa Wolves organization and its fans. His journey from college basketball to the professional ranks reflects his dedication and determination to succeed in the sport.

As he embarks on this new chapter with the Wolves, Kalscheur looks forward to making the most of this opportunity and leaving a lasting impact on the team and its supporters.
