Roshibina Devi Wins Silver in Women’s 60kg Wushu Sanda Competition at Asian Games
At the Asian Games, Naorem Roshibina Devi got a silver medal in the women’s 60kg wushu sanda competition. The dramatic contest took place on Thursday, with Wu Xiaowei, the current champion in the local heavyweight division, going up against Roshibina.
Wu Xiaowei presented Roshibina with a difficult test on Day 5 of the Asian Games. Wu Xiaowei didn’t waste any time and took the lead right away. The Chinese superpower stunningly defeated Roshibina in the early stages. Even though Roshibina, the local favorite, played aggressively in the opening round, she fell short. Wu took an early 1-0 lead.
Manipur native Roshibina didn’t give up. She grabbed Wu’s leg and attempted to push her toward the boundaries of the mat. However, the talented Chinese athlete won the first round.
