Donny van de Beek Transfer Loan Move to Eintracht Frankfurt in January
Is Donny van de Beek transfer to Frankfurt?
Do not ignore this. Various sources talk about it.
Van de Beek, the 26-year-old midfielder from Manchester United, has finalized an agreement to join Eintracht Frankfurt on loan in January. The completion of this transfer is contingent upon van de Beek undergoing a medical examination once the transfer window opens.
Additionally, the deal incorporates an option for Eintracht Frankfurt to purchase the player next summer.
Van de Beek, who joined United from Ajax in the summer of 2020, has faced challenges securing game time, making just two appearances this season.
In the summer of 2025, his contract will expire. He will continue training with the United squad until they finalize his transfer. He remains available for selection as well.
Van de Beek’s Rollercoaster Journey at United: From Promising Start to Injury Setbacks
Van de Beek joined United in 2020, contributing ten goals and 11 assists in 37 appearances the season before. This performance helped the Dutch side, managed by United boss Erik ten Hag, reach the Champions League semi-final for the first time since 1997.
Despite his promising start, Van de Beek has struggled to establish himself at United, making only 62 appearances, scoring two goals, and providing two assists. In January 2022, he went on loan to Everton but managed only seven appearances and scored one goal.
Throughout his time in the Premier League, Van de Beek has faced several injury problems, including a long-term knee injury sustained in January 2023, forcing him to miss the remainder of the 2022-23 season. Looking ahead, United is set to face Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday.
Van de Beek’s Dilemma: Navigating the Peaks and Valleys of a Versatile Midfielder
Van de Beek has the flexibility to play in different midfield roles. He has both benefited and hindered his Premier League career. While featuring as a box-to-box midfielder has kept him in contention for selection, his deficiencies in tackling, dribbling, and sensible passing style have limited his impact.
During the pre-season tour of Australia last summer, Ten Hag commented on Van de Beek’s optimal position, stating, “He can play both (sit deep and play high), I know that from the past. But his best position is in the opponent’s box, playing just behind the striker. He has a keen sense for being in the right position.”
Over time at United, Van de Beek’s ability to make effective forward runs has diminished. Despite a rare opportunity to play in his preferred No. 10 position when Fernandes was suspended against Aston Villa last season, he struggled, managing only 18 touches as the supposed chief creator for his team.
In a 65-minute-long performance, the player successfully made 13 passes with just one shot, but unfortunately, the game ended in a 3-1 defeat. He did not make a single tackle during the match.
