Arsenal Makes Bold Move for Declan Rice

During the summer transfer window, which has been open for a few weeks, Arsenal has grabbed center stage in the Premier League.

Despite dominating for much of the previous season, Arsenal finished second, falling to Manchester City at the top. In the following season, Mikel Arteta hopes to better their performance and gain first place.

It is likely that Arsenal will sign Declan Rice in the coming days, following the signing of Kai Havertz. Arsenal proposed the West Ham United captain this week, which ESPN estimates to be worth about $133 million (£105 million/€122 million).

Arsenal is looking to challenge for the Premier League title next season and believes that Rice can help them achieve that goal. Rice has consistently improved as a fantastic player in recent years, but the transfer cost is quite exorbitant. The Gunners have already signed striker Gabriel Jesus and midfielder Fabio Vieira.

Arsenal’s Transfer Strategy Compared to Liverpool

Jürgen Klopp implemented a progressive transformation on Merseyside about five years ago, like the Liverpool of 2018. The Reds improved with each passing season, owing to astute market buys.

From 2016 to 18, they added players like Mohamed Salah, Van Dijk, Fabinho, Alisson, and Sadio Mané to their squad, which has aided their improvement.

Liverpool’s sports director Michael Edwards effectively secured the required components for Klopp by adding one or two game-changers to the team. The Anfield team was improving, and Edwards completed his mission of giving his boss with the players.

Liverpool made a huge investment in the January window of 2018 by purchasing Virgil van Dijk, who was looking to leave Southampton owing to his remarkable performance that outperformed the level of competition in the middle of the Premier League table.

Manchester City were interested in the Dutchman, but Liverpool convinced him to join them on Liverpool.

Can Rice Be Arsenal’s Van Dijk or Alisson?

Liverpool set a transfer record when they bought Van Dijk, paying about $95 million (£75 million/€87 million) for his services. No other team had ever purchased a defender for such a high fee, and the Reds had never spent so much money on a single player, but they thought he was worth every penny.

‘transformational’ by Edwards, who thought he merited the hefty price described as ‘transformational’ by Van Dijk. Six months later, another player branded a ‘transformer’ came for a record-breaking amount. From AS Roma, Becker joined Liverpool.

The Brazilian Hawk broke the global record for the most expensive goalkeeper. They signed him for a hefty fee of $82 million (£65 million/€75 million). For Klopp to compete regularly at the top of the sport, Edwards had to fill this squad gap. It required a significant financial commitment.

Road to the Success of the Reds

Van Dijk and Alisson teamed together to improve Liverpool’s defense, resulting in Klopp winning at least one competition. The Reds won the Premier League, Champions League, Club World Cup, FA Cup, and other competitions.

Van Dijk and Alisson collaborated to strengthen Liverpool’s defense, which resulted in Klopp winning at least one competition. The Reds won the Premier League, the Champions League, the Club World Cup, the FA Cup, and other trophies.

The Risks and Rewards of Arsenal’s Transfer Strategy

Van Dijk and Alisson joined Liverpool nearly five years ago and swiftly became pillars of strength on the pitch. It’s a fact that Klopp would have struggled to deliver such a memorable golden age without them.

Edwards took a substantial risk by allocating a significant percentage of his money to these two players. However, his calculated risk paid off and validated his judgments.

Arsenal and Liverpool are both known for not regularly breaking transfer records. The Gunners seldom pay enormous payments for a single player, so, notably, Arteta believes Rice will have a revolutionary influence at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal’s decision to spend big on Rice is risky. If he consistently exceeds expectations and performs at the level of Van Dijk and Alisson, Arsenal could soon win the Premier League title. The Gunners clearly believe they can challenge for the Premier League title within a few years.
