Man Utd Completed Transfers of Wan-Bissaka
Man Utd completed transfers in the third deal of the January window! They’ve triggered the option to extend defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s contract until 2025.
It follows Erik ten Hag’s two other transfer moves: loaning out Donny van de Beek to Eintracht Frankfurt and recalling young striker Charlie McNeill from his Stevenage loan.
Wan-Bissaka, who joined from Crystal Palace for £50 million four years ago, has become a key part of United’s defence under ten Hag.
This extension signifies the club’s confidence in his continued role. Stay tuned for further updates on Man Utd’s transfer activity!
While the futures of Jadon Sancho and Facundo Pellistri remain up in the air, Manchester United have secured the immediate future of Aaron Wan-Bissaka by extending his contract until at least June 2025.
The Red Devils are so impressed with the right-back’s performances that they’re already planning to open talks about a further extension before the end of the season, according to the Daily Mail.
MANU’s Strategic Move for Signing Bissaka
Manchester United has successfully secured the services of 26-year-old right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka, avoiding the risk of him becoming a free agent this summer. Despite ongoing changes due to new part-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s overhaul, the club has affirmed Wan-Bissaka’s importance to their plans.
The initial discussions between the club and the player’s representatives began in September but were temporarily halted during the finalization of Ratcliffe’s investment.
After the British billionaire acquired a 25% stake last week, Manchester United promptly activated a clause in Wan-Bissaka’s contract.
The former England under-21 international, who hasn’t played for the senior team yet, will get a pay rise if he agrees to the new contract terms. His current salary is reportedly £90,000 per week, and we expected the increase to boost that number.
This move marks another strategic step in Man Utd’s completed transfers, ensuring the retention of key players for the upcoming seasons.
Contract Contrasts: Varane Heads Out, Lindelof in Limbo, Martial’s Future Fading at Man Utd
While 30-year-old Raphael Varane’s Manchester United future hits the brakes. Lindelof moves also to the table. The activation of his clause doesn’t automatically guarantee he’ll stay this summer – a sale is still very much on the table.
Anthony Martial is another player whose contract is expiring in June, but there is no indication that manager Erik ten Hag and the club are eager to retain him beyond the upcoming summer transfer window.
Martial has been with the club since 2015, and among the players from that era, only left-back Luke Shaw remains in the first-team squad. Recent Man Utd completed transfers highlight this point.
