In a dazzling display of playmaking panache, Nikola Jokic etched his name further into NBA history during Monday’s Nuggets-Mavericks clash. The Serbian maestro climbed the all-time assists ladder, surpassing the legendary Michael Adams (4,209) and Richie Guerin (4,211) to land at the coveted 108th spot.

Jokic’s vision and court orchestration proved unstoppable, leaving basketball enthusiasts in awe. His next target on the ascent? None other than the iconic Charles Barkley, whose 4,215 assists await Jokic’s inevitable climb.

Masterful Performance, But Can Denver Maintain Momentum?

Jokic entered the night averaging 27.0 points, 12.4 rebounds, 9.5 assists, and 1.2 steals, shooting 54.1% from the field and 30.9% from three in 26 games.

Sitting as the West’s fourth seed, the Nuggets held a 17-10 record through their first 27 games. They stumbled recently, going 6-4 in their last ten, including a heartbreaking 118-117 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Jokic played 37 minutes, putting up 24 points, six rebounds, 12 assists, and two steals while shooting 8-for-15 from the field and 1-for-2 from three.

After facing the Mavericks, it set the Denver Nuggets embark on their next challenge as they travel to Canada to take on the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday evening.

Nikola Jokic: The Unstoppable Force Redefining the Center Position

Drafted 41st in 2014, Nikola Jokic has spent his entire nine-year career with the Denver Nuggets.

Last season, the 28-year-old center led the Nuggets to the top seed in the West and ultimately, the 2023 NBA Championship over the Miami Heat.

Jokic boasts impressive career averages: 20.5 points, 10.6 rebounds, 6.8 assists, and 1.2 steals per game. He shoots a remarkable 55.2% from the field and 34.6% from beyond the arc.
