Christian Wood Signs with Lakers
The Los Angeles Lakers allegedly paid $5.7 million to sign Christian Wood to a two-year contract with a player option in the second year. Wood is on his way to his ninth NBA franchise, as per ESPN report. With his post on X, formerly known as Twitter, he nearly made it official.
“It’s always been my dream to be a laker,” Wood said. The club has not yet officially announced the transfer.
Last season, Wood, 27, averaged 16.6 points and 7.3 rebounds per game for the Dallas Mavericks. However, his finest season came in 2020-21, when he averaged 21 points and 9.6 rebounds for the Houston Rockets.
During his NBA career, Wood has represented the Houston Rockets, the Philadelphia 76ers, the Charlotte Hornets, the Milwaukee Bucks, the New Orleans Pelicans, the Detroit Pistons, and others. He is presently a member of the Dallas Mavericks.
In the 289 games he has played in the NBA, Wood has made 139 starts.
