Hashim Amla, known for his calm demeanor and elegant strokeplay, was a pillar of South Africa’s batting. He scored 9,282 Test runs (avg. 46.64) and 8,113 ODI runs (avg. 49.46).
Amla made history as the first South African to score a Test triple-century (311* vs England in 2012). His 55 international centuries cement his place among cricket’s greats.
“Joining the ICC Hall of Fame alongside Graeme Smith is surreal. This recognition means everything,” Amla said.
3. MS Dhoni – India’s Captain Cool
MS Dhoni, one of India’s most successful captains, enters the ICC Hall of Fame list Indian fans will celebrate. With 10,773 ODI runs (avg. 50.57) and 294 Test dismissals, Dhoni revolutionized wicketkeeping and finishing matches under pressure.
He led India to three ICC titles: the 2007 T20 World Cup, the 2011 ODI World Cup, and the 2013 Champions Trophy. His iconic helicopter shot in the 2011 final remains unforgettable.
“To be remembered among the all-time greats is a dream come true,“ Dhoni said.
4. Graeme Smith – The Fearless Leader
Graeme Smith, South Africa’s youngest Test captain at 22, redefined leadership. He scored 9,265 Test runs (avg. 48.25) and led his team to the No.1 Test ranking.
Smith’s aggressive batting and tactical brilliance made him one of cricket’s finest captains.
“This is a proud moment for South African cricket,“ Smith said.
5. Daniel Vettori – New Zealand’s Spin Wizard
Daniel Vettori, New Zealand’s legendary spinner, was a rare all-rounder. He took 362 Test wickets and scored 4,531 runs, joining an elite group of players with 4,000+ runs and 300+ wickets in Tests.
Vettori also captained New Zealand to the 2009 Champions Trophy final.
“Being in the ICC Hall of Fame is overwhelming,“ Vettori said.
6. Sana Mir – Pakistan’s Trailblazer
Sana Mir, the first Pakistani woman in the ICC Hall of Fame, was a world-class off-spinner. She took 151 ODI wickets and captained Pakistan with distinction.
Beyond cricket, Mir advocated for mental health and women’s rights.
“From dreaming of playing for Pakistan to entering the Hall of Fame—this is beyond imagination,“ Mir said.
7. Sarah Taylor – England’s Wicketkeeping Genius
Sarah Taylor, England’s finest wicketkeeper-batter, redefined women’s cricket. She scored 4,056 ODI runs and effected 138 dismissals.
Taylor played a crucial role in England’s 2009 World Cup and T20 World Cup wins, as well as the 2017 ODI World Cup triumph.
