Indian Men’s Cricket Team Announced for Asian Games 2023
On Friday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the Indian men’s cricket team for the Asian Games 2023. The team consists of 15 members, and there are five standby players as well. The Asian Games will take place in Hangzhou, China, from September 23 to October 8.
The men’s T20 cricket competition will take place at the Asian Games in 2023. It will hold the games at the Pingfeng Cricket Field of Zhejiang University of Technology. The event will take place from September 28 to October 8.
At the Hangzhou Games, India will play in the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup, which begins on October 5 in India. Important players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma won’t be in the starting lineup.
IPL Stars Headline India’s Squad for Hangzhou Asian Games 2023
The team headed to Hangzhou will include several talented young players, several of whom were top performers in the Indian Premier League (IPL). At the Hangzhou Asian Games, the Indian squad will be led by Ruturaj Gaikwad. A 26-year-old player for Chennai Super Kings in the IPL.
As the highest wicket-taker for Punjab Kings in the IPL 2023, left-arm bowler Arshdeep Singh was invited to join the squad. Currently playing in the Test match against the West Indies, Yashasvi Jaiswal, a Rajasthan Royals player, hit a century in her Test debut.

India Announces Men’s and Women’s Squads for First Time
For the first time, India has made announcements on its men’s and women’s squads for the Asian Games cricket tournament.
At the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou, Bangladesh won the first cricket competition. At the Asian Games, Sri Lanka is currently the defending cricket champion. In both the Guangzhou 2010 and Incheon 2014 tournaments, Afghanistan came in second place.
For the second time, the Indian men’s cricket team will compete in a multi-sport competition. They had previously competed in a 50-over format in the 1998 Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur. It classified the games as List A Games since it did not give them international status.
