Asia Cup 2023: A 50-Over Warm-Up for the ODI World Cup

Nepal to Make Asia Cup Debut in 2023
The competition began in 1984 with the ODI format, but with the addition of T20s, things changed. The Final ODI Asia Cup was held in 2019, the same year as the format’s final World Cup. The Indian team won the championship that year. However, they were missing several of its key players.
The team’s primary batsman and captain, Virat Kohli, did not participate in the event. He delegated the captaincy to Rohit Sharma, his deputy. In reality, Rohit preferred to relax during one match and delegated captaincy to MS Dhoni.
Pakistan and Sri Lanka will co-host the tournament in 2023. For the first time, Nepal will compete in the competition. Nepal qualified for the event by winning the first ACC Men’s Premier Cup 2023. In the tournament final, they beat the United Arab Emirates.
