The serenity of Ranchi was shattered on India vs England 4th Test Day3 as dramatic fluctuations unfolded. England’s Shoaib Bashir ripped through the Indian top order with a fiery spell, claiming 4 wickets, while Tom Hartley chipped in with 2 on Day 2.

However, a defiant 73 by Yashasvi Jaiswal kept India afloat, leaving the match on a knife’s edge.

India’s dream start turned into a nightmare as Bashir unleashed a ferocious spell. He dismissed Yashasvi, Gill, Rajat and Jadeja cheaply, exposing the middle order. His spin and accuracy proved too much for Gill and Jaiswal, sending shivers down the Indian spine.

England’s bowling attack wasn’t a one-man show. Tom Hartley, impressed with his control and swing, dismissed Sarfaraz Khan and Ashwin. His disciplined bowling provided crucial support to Bashir’s fiery spell.

Just as India was staring down the barrel, young Yashasvi Jaiswal stood tall. He played with maturity and grit, stitching together partnerships with Gill. His 73, studded with elegant drives and flicks, instilled hope in the Indian camp.

India ended Day 2 at 219/7. They start Day 3 still 134 runs behind England’s first-innings total. The lower order, with Jurel and Kuldeep at the crease, needs to show resilience and build a respectable total.

Can they bat with the same composure as Jaiswal and avoid a complete collapse?

The onus will shift to England on Day 4. Their batting, despite Root’s heroics in the first innings, has shown vulnerability. Can they overcome their inconsistency and put up a challenging total, or will India’s bowlers exploit their weaknesses?

Day 3 of the Ranchi Test turned the tables dramatically. England, after being out for 353, were on top thanks to Bashir’s brilliance. However, Jaiswal’s and Jurel’s fighting knocks kept India alive. This match hangs in the balance, and Day 4 could be the turning point.

  • Can India’s lower order add crucial runs and post a competitive Lead?

  • The emotional rollercoaster of the day kept the crowd on the edge of their seats.
  • The rivalry between Bashir and Jaiswal promises to be a fascinating duel in the coming days.
