Since the New Orleans Saints wouldn’t let Wil Lutz kick his rocks last season, Lutz joined Sean Payton with the Denver Broncos. The Saints Hall of Fame inducted Drew Brees and everyone was looking at Payton coming back.
The forgotten storyline was that Lutz came back to town (from New Orleans) to kick the Broncos to victory. All by himself, Lutz outscored his old team.
Well, that didn’t exactly happen, but it could have. On Thursday night, the former New Orleans Saints Kicker put four through the goalposts, who had four themselves for four points for the night.
That’s a lot of points more than his former team had all night long. The Saints hadn’t scored more than a field goal versus themselves in ‘TNF’ action until what was left of the game in the final two minutes.
Denver Broncos Dominate Saints, But Saints Might Regret Trade
Conversely, it was a far different story for the Broncos, who haven’t had much of a story this season — some ups and downs on offense, but then again, so have a number of more prominent teams — after notching 33 points over that span of time.
In every quarter of the game Denver scored and did its most damage in the second quarter with 13 and the third quarter with 10.
After two straight victories will only be able to get stronger, as the Broncos host the Carolina Panthers next Sunday at Mile High. But the Saints are guessing if they regret trading him to Denver.
