Two Eagles Players Carted Off With Neck Injuries
Tyrie Cleveland and Moro Ojomo, two Eagles players, both sustained neck injuries in the second part of the exhibition game. The event caused worry among Cleveland Browns and Philadelphia Eagles players as well as supporters.
Tyrie Cleveland, a wide receiver for the Eagles, got injured first. He was trying to catch an incomplete pass from quarterback Tanner McKee when he fell oddly and landed on his neck. Medical staff hurried onto the field, and after looking at him for a few minutes, they put Cleveland on a stretcher and took him off the field on a cart.
Even though the injury was serious, they later confirmed that Cleveland could move all his extremities, which relieved some tension.
NFL Preseason Game: Injuries Hit Key Players Cleveland and Ojomo’
Cleveland joined the NFL as a seventh-round draft pick of the Broncos. He’s made a name for himself with the Eagles. He caught one of his three targets for four yards before his injury. During training camp, he stood out and was vying for a spot on Philadelphia’s 53-man roster for the next season.
Moro Ojomo, a young defensive lineman, was injured in the neck late in the game. While hitting Browns backup quarterback Kellen Mond, teammate Tristin McCollum accidentally smacked him in the neck. Ojomo, like Cleveland, had to be carted from the field. He could give a thumbs up and wave as they took him away. According to the Eagles, Ojomo could move all his limbs and legs.
Ojomo Injury Impacts Squad
Ojomo, a seventh-round pick out of Texas, impressed in preseason games and training camp. His injury had a significant impact on the squad since other players such as Zech McPhearson, Nolan Smith, and Josh Andrews were hurt and had to leave the game. Cleveland and Ojomo’s injuries served as a stark reminder of the dangers associated with the sport.
According to quarterback Marcus Mariota, “Your heart goes out to them first and foremost, and you just think about your teammate. We play a game and it’s a blessing to play a game but when these situations get like that, it is scary.”
