Pacers vs Thunder: Pacers Beat Thunder in Game 3 of NBA Finals, Take 2-1 Series Lead

The Indiana Pacers defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder 116-107 in Game 3 of the NBA Finals on Wednesday. With this win, the Pacers now lead the series 2-1. The game was full of excitement as the Pacers vs Thunder matchup kept fans on the edge of their seats.

Pacers Stage Another Fourth-Quarter Comeback

The Pacers won Finals Game 3 with a strong fourth-quarter performance. They scored 32 points in the final quarter, outscoring the Thunder by 14. This was Indiana’s second fourth-quarter comeback in the NBA Finals.

Slow Start for the Pacers

The game did not begin well for Indiana. The Thunder took an early lead, ending the first quarter ahead 32-24. In the first five minutes, the Pacers struggled, scoring fewer than 10 points.

Pacers Dominate Second Quarter

Indiana turned things around in the second quarter. They scored 40 points, outplaying the Thunder by 12. By halftime, the Pacers led 64-60.

Thunder Fight Back in the Third Quarter

Oklahoma City refused to give up. They outscored the Pacers 29-20 in the third quarter and took an 89-84 lead into the fourth.

Pacers Take Control in Final Quarter

The Pacers quickly erased the Thunder’s lead. They tied the game at 95 with 8:09 left. Then, Bennedict Mathurin hit a three-pointer to give Indiana the lead at 98-95 with 8:02 remaining. The Pacers never lost the lead after that.

Top Performers for the Pacers

Three Pacers players scored big:

  • Pascal Siakam – 21 points
  • Tyrese Haliburton – 22 points and 11 assists (a double-double)
  • Bennedict Mathurin – 27 points (led the team)

Haliburton almost got a triple-double, missing just one rebound.

Thunder’s Best Players

The Thunder had strong performances too:

  • Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (MVP) – 24 points
  • Jalen Williams – 26 points
  • Chet Holmgren – 20 points

Despite their efforts, the Thunder could not stop the Pacers in the final quarter.

Series Update: Pacers Lead 2-1

The Pacers won Game 1 (111-110) but lost Game 2 (123-107). Now, after winning Game 3, they lead the series 2-1.
