Javi Miguel feels Barcelona’s problems are escalating because Xavi Hernandez does not trust Neymar or Felix. Xavi allegedly stalled negotiations for Felix throughout the summer because he preferred a transfer for Silva.
However, Barcelona requires fresh revenue to afford the Manchester City star. It’s uncertain whether this would cause Xavi to reconsider his gaze on Felix.Even though they briefly played together at Camp Nou nearly a decade ago, the Barcelona coach isn’t interested in reconciling with brazilian forward.
Barcelona Prefers Neymar Over Felix, But Finances May Be an Issue
Miguel added that while Xavi may not like Felix or Neymar if forced to pick, the Barcelona coach would prefer to sign the Brazilian. Xavi has already played alongside Neymar, so he is familiar with the PSG superstar’s abilities. Brazilian forward is said to want to return to Camp Nou and is prepared to take lesser pay to fit into the club’s new compensation structure. Javi Miguel, on the other hand, believes that Barcelona requires another high-value departure to finance brazilian forward. The team is presently negotiating the exits of Sergino Dest and Clement Lenglet, while PSG wishes to sign Ansu Fati. Even if those transactions go through, it may be difficult for Barcelona to go all-in on Neymar this summer.
