Liverpool in the transfer market: Have they already caught all the big fish?

After sealing the deal of Mac Allister for €45 million and Dominik Szoboszlai for €60, is any chance to return Philippe Coutinho to Anfield?

Liverpool continues to display relentless activity in the transfer market, demonstrating no indications of slowing down. They are looking for some big fish to catch up.

Earlier this year, during Sky Sports’ Premier League coverage, former defender Jamie Carragher left a hint for Kloop about the next shark.

Philippe Coutinho is set to leave Aston Villa barely a year after joining the Premier League side permanently.

Coutinho’s Liverpool Legacy:

Merseyside used to adore the Brazilian star, who rose to prominence as one of the finest playmakers in the world under Brendan Rodgers and also in Jurgen Klopp’s early ambitions.

In 201 games while donning the fabled red jersey, he scored 54 goals and created 45 assists, but his ambition to play for Barcelona sparked a transfer drama that tragically painful end to his Liverpool career.

Barcelona Struggles and Loan Moves:

When Philippe Coutinho’s career at Camp Nou didn’t pan out as expected, Barcelona supporters immediately turned against him. It led to two loan transfers outside of Spain before he finally found himself at Aston Villa, where he was taken under the care of his old teammate Steven Gerrard.

But this most recent action hasn’t worked out either. Gerrard’s dismissal, Unai Emery’s hiring, and a few injuries have caused delays in Coutinho’s success at Villa Park. He initially went on loan in 2022 and played a key role in contributing to eight goals in 19 games.

Philippe Coutinho’s career in decline: Can he turn things around at Besiktas?

Besiktas, a Turkish club, has offered Philippe Coutinho a one-year contract with an option to buy him for £8 million.

Villa will cover 60% of the Brazilian international’s salary while he is in Turkey to ensure that the trade closes as soon as possible during this transfer window.

However, he has not had the effect that many anticipated he would have upon his return to the Premier League. Since Unai Emery’s appointment, he has had trouble securing a consistent spot in Villa’s first team.
