Recently, rumors have been all around the air that Rafael Leao is going to Barcelona. The fact is, Barca is keeping a close eye on Rafael Leao’s hard situation in Milan. In Milan, he lost his starting spot this season due to his relationship with coach Paulo Fonseca.
Leao is a famous player in the football world, particularly among the president, Joan Laporta, and the Blaugrana club considered his acquisition after the Nico Williams deal fell through, albeit his arrival was not viable. Leao is becoming dissatisfied with his circumstances in Milan, and his price is dropping. Therefore, Barca is waiting to see if he will eventually be available at a reasonable price.

In Milan, Leao is dealing with a complex and unexpected scenario. When Barca attempted to approach him through Jorge Mendes this summer, the Italian club proclaimed him untransferable.
However, the operation was not feasible owing to Blaugrana’s salary cap. The Blaugrana club will continue to prioritize the acquisition of a left-footed winger next summer, and the Portuguese footballer is on the list as long as his price is affordable.
Rafa Leao extended his contract with Milan in 2023 with a contract that runs until 2028. He has no departure option. Thus, any team interested in him must negotiate with the Milans. His exit was a pipe dream a few months ago, but the current dispute in the dressing room may bring the winger’s Milan career to an end.
For the time being, the coach has attempted to soothe the seas, yet he has made it obvious that he wants more engagement from Leao: There is no conflict with Leao. As a coach, I make the decisions, and everyone is expected to give their all. I shouldn’t beg anybody for this much. There’s nothing else to say about Leao’s performance versus Napoli. Leao watched the remarkable battle against the Neapolitans from the bench, and it appears that his condition will continue the same.
Mendes Offers Leao to Barcelona, Milan Faces Tough Decision
Jorge Mendes, the agent, does not directly represent Leao, but he does influence him. He has been offering him to Barcelona for some time. However, the cost of the procedure has always been prohibitively expensive. If the winger stays in ostracism, the Italian club will have no choice but to release him, and the Blaugrana may choose to sign him.
Both Deco and Hansi Flick regard him as a completely different player on the left wing, albeit his arrival should be within reasonable budget constraints.
The player has not yet expressed interest in discussing his circumstances. If Milan retains Fonseca as coach in the long run, he may be open to a change of scenery. Although he is a player with incredible skill who can perform like a star if he has the confidence, his performances have always been erratic.
