Liverpool Need to Act Fast to Find Fabinho Replacement
Liverpool had a fantastic opportunity to sign a rumored target 12 months ago. Steven Gerrard has pointed out the fallacy of its ways. He believes Liverpool should have signed the rumored target to replace Fabinho.
Liverpool must immediately find a replacement for Fabinho, who is set to join Saudi Pro League club Al-Ittihad. Jürgen Klopp has three weeks till the start of the new season, but no senior defensive midfielder is now available.
According to The Athletic, the Reds have compiled a list of prospective replacements. The majority of these possibilities are from the Premier League.
Sofyan Amrabat plays for Fiorentina, while Ryan Gravenberch plays for Bayern Munich, albeit the latter’s role is not completely defensive.
Options for English teams in the midfield market
English teams may view Southampton’s Roméo Lavia as inexperienced for the role. The battle between the two teams may prevent Manchester City’s Kalvin Phillips from becoming available.
According to the Mail, Crystal Palace valued Cheick Doucouré at $90 million (£70 million/€81 million). Boubacar Kamara, who is only 23 and has four years left on his deal, could want a comparable amount from Aston Villa. Both players, though, appear more realistic, but they are not inexpensive.
Kamara: A Complete Number Six
Kamara is the most tempting choice since he boasts all of the characteristics to grow into a complete number six. His exceptional anticipation and game reading contribute considerably to his ability to thrive at breaking up play. In his first season, he managed 2.42 tackles per 90 minutes, ranking among the league’s top 20.
He is not just a pure destroyer; he can also distribute the ball effectively. His long passing accuracy of 70.5% (ranked 21st among players attempting at least 50 passes last year) shows his ability to spread the play.
Boubacar Kamara: A Promising Talent Who Validated His Designation
Upon his arrival from Marseille, Steven Gerrard, the Liverpool star and then-Villa manager, lauded Kamara as “one of the most promising talents in European football” (via Sky Sports). Last season, Kamara validated that designation despite missing 15 games due to injury.
If the Frenchman had been more involved, he might have been mentioned during the signing of the season talks. When the player’s contract with Marseille expired, Aston Villa got him for nothing in transfer fees.
Liverpool Could Be Regretting Not Signing Enzo Fernandez
