Tchouameni Could Be the Next Big Signing for Manchester United

According to Sport, Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag wants to recruit Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni this summer.

The Red Devils have been busy in the current transfer window, spending £162 million (€187 million) on Mason Mount, Andre Onana, and Rasmus Hojlund up front.

A new defensive midfielder might be the club’s next goal. Sport has reported that Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat is interested in joining the club, but Ten Hag has other intentions.

Tchouameni is admired by the Dutch strategist, who has pushed United to explore a deal for him.

Real Madrid Considers Bidding for Aurelien Tchouameni

The Carlo Ancelotti team is debating making a bid for the outstanding midfielder. The bid would be very close to Madrid’s €80 million plus €20 million in add-ons for Monaco last summer.

They would love to keep Tchouameni after making “a strong investment,” but “market circumstances” involving Kylian Mbappe may force him to go. Along with United, Bayern Munich has been a longtime supporter of the former Monaco star.

Tchouameni: A Missed Opportunity for United

Tchouameni was being considered by United during the summer transfer window, but he ultimately joined Los Blancos, where he made 50 appearances across all competitions. Despite opposition from Toni Kroos and Eduardo Camavinga, the 23-year-old stood out with 94 percent passing accuracy in his appearances.

He won 66 percent of his total duels and averaged 1.9 tackles, 1.5 interceptions, and 1.5 clearances per game. Tchouameni holds a degree from Bordeaux.

He only misplaced the ball 5.1 times per game. Tchouameni, in our opinion, can develop into a top-tier midfielder in the future. He would be the Red Devils’ best investment.

The key concern is whether they can generate enough revenue from player sales to meet Madrid’s demand. We don’t believe they will be able to achieve it. If the leadership is ready to give the manager additional money, United can still compete.
